Bi-Annual Meeting Minutes 2011

The Meeting was called to order at 2:30  Oct. 22, by President Greg Steeves

The following Clubs were represented

Greg Steeves read the minutes of the 2009 meeting, no errors or omissions were
identified, motioned by Coady MacDonald and seconded by George Demeter to accept
as read …. All in favour

Financial Report was given by Greg Steeves showing a bank balance of $1,979.00 as of
Oct. 01, 2011

Motioned by Pauline Pawson seconded by Clair Murphy to accept the financial
statement …..All in Favour

Committee Reports…… No Names submitted for the 2009 Hall of Fame

Election of officers were held for the President, Vice President, and Sec’t Treasurer

The following positions were filled for a two year period

President – Nominations Greg Steeves declined, Clair Murphy Accepted
Vice President – Dennis Cooke … Accepted
Sec’t Treasurer – Greg Steeves …. Accepted

The Regional Monitors are as follows:

Quebec Region – Dario Manna … Accepted
Ontario Region – James Bingham …. Accepted
Maritime Region – Bobby Gale …. Accepted
Newfoundland Region – Judy Walsh …. Accepted

New Business: New President Clair Murphy chaired this position of the meeting

1. Dan Kane had presented some policy changes for the Hall of Fame. Motioned by
Randy Fillmore seconded by Coady MacDonald to accept the policy change for the Hall
of Fame ….All in favour…..Carried

There was considerable discussion regarding the location of the National trial for the
next two years. Fundy Trail Beagle Club agreed to host the trial. It was noted that
Cornwall Beagle Club had agreed to host the trial in the event Fundy had to decline.

There was some discussion about changing the date. Chris Waterman out the idea that
it be held a week earlier. It was motioned by Johnny Lemoine, seconded by Bobby Gale
that the National Trial be held at Fundy Trail Beagle Club on the 4th weekend of
October for the next two years. Motion Carried … All in favour

The suggestion was put forward that if one or more of the top five regional qualifying
hounds could not attend the National Trial, that the next qualifying hound from the
region would move up to a qualifying position. After considerable discussion there was
the general agreement that the current system of eligibility would remain as is.

Motioned by Pauline Pawson, seconded by John Monkman the top Regional Award be
renamed the “Terry McBride Regional Award” …. All in favour

There was considerable constructive discussion on the various options to address the
judges selections for the Nationals. In the end the following motion was put on the floor

Motined by George Demeter, seconded by Bobby Gale that each regional monitor
contact each club in their area to request their suggestions for judges for the
Nationals trial and that a consolidated regional list of judges be forwarded to National
LPH Trial Executive Committee. …. All in favour

The maritime clubs agreed to assist Fundy Trail Beagle Club with the work associated
with the hosting of the Canadian National Trial.

Before closing the meeting, the President Clair Murphy asked the clubs to join him in
expressing our sincere thanks to Greg and Wendy Steeves for all their hard work
related to the National Trial. A tumultuous round of applause was heard.

Meeting was adjourned at 3:45 pm
